Cookie Painting

Refrigerated sugar cookie dough or your favorite sugar cookie recipe

Egg yolks

Food Colors

Clean paintbrush for each color
Cut sugar cookies into the shape you desire. Mix egg yolk and food color
to get desired color. Paint unbaked cookie with food color mixture. Get
creative. Bake cookies until golden brown or follow package directions.
Fancy Fruit Salad

4 cups apples, oranges, pineapple, grapes or which ever fruits you like
Fruit salad dressing

2 eggs, separated

1 1/4 cups sugar

1/4 cup pineapple juice

1/4 cup water

Juice of 2 lemons

salt
Place egg yolks in a double boiler. Add sugar, juice, water, and lemon
juice, add pinch of salt and beat slowly. Remove from heat Beat egg whites
until stiff Add egg whites to yolk mixture. Mix. When cool pour over fruit.
Serves 6.
Trail Mix
Use any of all of the following:

Cereal

Raisins, dried cherries, or dried pears

Peanuts, cashews, almonds

Mini crackers or cookies

Pretzel sticks

Chocolate chips, M&M's
Mix together in bowl. Store in snack sized zip lock bags for freshness.
Rocky Mountain Cake

2 cups cake flour o 1 1/2 cups sugar

2 tsp baking powder o 1 tsp salt

dash cinnamon o dash nutmeg

1/2 tsp cream of tartar o 8 egg whites

8 egg yolks o 1/2 cup veg. oil

3/4 cold water
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder salt and spices together, 4 times. Combine
egg yolks, oil and water in a large bowl. Add dry ingredients. Beat on
low speed 1 minute. In large bowl mix egg whites and cream of tartar until
stiff peaks form. Slowly pour cake batter over whites: fold in. Bake in
ungreased Bundt pan at 325 for 15-20 minutes. Invert pan to cool. Serves
8
Ice Cream Melons

1 large honeydew melon

3 cups raspberry sherbert

1/4 c. chocolate chips
Cut melon in half and scoop out seeds. Soften sherbert in microwave 15
seconds and fill each half of melon. Next slice each half in half. Decorate
with chocolate chips. Serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.
