Partner's Summer Youth Program
This Gunnison program is for children 7 to12 years of age. It runs for
six weeks beginning Monday, June 4 through Friday, July 13. The camp is
half-day and is structured to develop social skills. Activities include
games, recreation, arts and crafts, reading, sports, music and more. The
fee is $50.00 for the full six weeks. Drop-ins are welcome. Call 970-641-5513

Adventure Club - Stepping Stones Children's Center
This program runs all summer long and serves both local and visiting children
ages 5 ½ to 8. Activities include hiking, swimming, canoeing, and
keeping a garden at Round Mountain Organics, just to name a few. Locals
should register early to reserve spots, but drop-ins are always welcome

Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory - Kids Nature Camp
Located in the Gothic Town Site, this camp takes place from June 11 through
August 9 for children ages 4 to 11. Nature Discoveries is for ages 4 to
5 on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to noon or 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Topics covered
are "Fabulous Foxes," "Cunning Cats," "Rad Reptiles"
and "Beautiful Birds" for series one, and "Tremendous Trees,"
"Fantastic Flowers," "Burying Beetles" and "Buzzing
Bees" for series two. Nature Adventures is for ages 6 to 8 on Mondays
or Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. noon, and ages 9 to 11 on Thursdays from 9:00
a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Topics covered are "Wild Weather," "Fabulous
Felines," "Cunning Canines," "Fantastic Flowers"
"Tremendous Trees" "Beautiful Birds," "Outside
Orienteering," "Buzzing Bees" and "Adventure Day."
Registration for programs comes on a first-come, first-served basis and
should be completed with fees paid one week prior to the date of each

Gunnison Valley Adventure Camp - CB Adaptive Sports
The Adaptive Sports Center, which works with people of all ages with developmental
and physical disabilities, is offering this great camp for local and visiting
youth ages 8 to 10 on Tuesdays from June 12 to August 21. A different
activity is offered each week. There will also be an additional overnight

Rocky Mountain Cross Country Running Camp - Crested Butte
Academy
Athletes ages 12 to 17 train in this truly elite environment with top-notch
coaches at one of four camps running June 20 to 25, June 28 to July 2
(affiliated with Nike), July 6 to 11, and July 14 to 19. Campers will
stay at the Crested Butte Academy and train in subjects including injury
prevention, motivation, nutrition, hydration, strength, training periodization,
and shoe dynamics. Register early, as there is only room for 45 people.

Experimental Exploration - Round Mountain Organics and
Institute
The Round Mountain Organics and Institute (located off Hwy. 135, 10 miles.
south of Crested Butte) day camp is for kids between the ages of 5 and
10. Sessions run for one week Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. The camp sessions run as follows: June 18 to 22, June 25 to
29, July 2,3,5,6, July 9 to 13, July 16 to 20, and August 6 to 10. Activities
include planting, harvesting food and preparing it in a solar oven, observing
sun and wind powered electricity, feeding chickens and interacting with
other critters on the farm, as well as hiking, singing, yoga, and arts
and crafts. The cost is $45.00 per day per child or $205.00 per week and
includes an all-organic lunch and snacks. For more information and to

National Park Service - Junior Ranger Programs
This ranger-led program. takes place at the Black Canyon Visitor Center
most Saturday afternoons and at the Curecanti (Elk Creek) Visitor Center
most Sunday mornings. The Junior Ranger Program is self-paced. The Advanced
Junior Ranger Program, for local youth in third and fourth grades, is
an eight-week series in which at least six weeks must be attended in order
to earn a badge. The program typically meets on the South Rim of the Black
Canyon for about four hours per session. For more details on dates and

Slate River Camp
Slate River Camp is open to children ages 6 to 12 who want to enjoy full
days (9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) of adventure in wilderness activities and
community exploration. Some of the past activities have included: Exploring
rivers and waterfalls, arts and crafts, fly fishing, pizza making at the
Secret Stash restaurant, Frisbee golf, fort building, yoga, sports and

Sage Mountain School Summer Camp
Sage Mountain School in Gunnison will be offering summer camp for kids
ages 4 to 8 and 9 to 12 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Adventure Drum Summer Camp
Discover the magic of traditional West African rhythms and culture, combined
with local area adventure. Hike and drum in the beautiful mountains of
Crested Butte. Session 1: July 23-July 27/ Session 2: July 30 - August
3. Drop off at Totem Pole Park in Crested Butte at 3rd & Maroon. Classes
are from 9:00 a.m. - Noon, T/W/Th for ages 7 and up. All child-size djembe
drums will be provided. $35.00 drop-in/$75.00 for whole session.
