On to the second year of our magazine featuring family activities in Colorado …

We love working on the summer issue because it's winter while we do it. We get to look at summer pictures, gather information about warm weather activities, and know that we need to get the magazine out before summer is here. We're operating in the "hurry up!" mode: Summer is almost here.

We're proud to give back to our community. Mountain Kids Magazine has donated cash to organizations such as Tough Enough to Wear Pink, The Crested Butte Land Trust, Adaptive Sports, Parent Teacher Student Association and others. How we help the community in other ways besides donations is evident in the magazine, including our listings of Public Library hours and programs, Park and Recreation maps and information. We are committed to giving back to our community with each issue.

This, our online version, is a dynamic presentation of what's happening for families here in Gunnison County. There are times when an event is scheduled at the last minute, or we find out about something after the magazine is already printed and in circulation, and we can include it on our web site. Visit us here frequently for updates.

Summertime is cherished here in the High Country. I remember reading a mother's comments about how her children, as adults, never spoke about the big-name amusement park vacations, but reminisced about camping and outdoor adventures with the family.
