Gunnison/Crested Butte Colorado Family Activity Guide

Kid Friendly Activities
in the Valley - Clubs

4-H Get Your Goat Club
Children can lease a goat or a sheep for the cost of $1.00 per animal plus 8 hours labor per month. Labor includes grooming, health care, feeding, chores, teaching a goat to lead, and more. Contact Ann Bertshy at (970) 641-5383 for more information.

4-H
The 4-H learning experiences are designed to help youth work with others in real life situations. These experiences promote individual growth in knowledge, skills and attitudes, which encourage family interaction. 4-H is no longer a program just for farm youth. Project activities include child development, foods and nutrition, clothing and fiber, natural resources, environmental science, gardening, computers, and veterinary science. Members must be between the ages of 5 and 18. 4-H enrollment is open all year, but members need to designate a project by May 1 of each year. Contact Nadine Henry at the 4-H office at (970) 641-1260 for more information.
