Thank you for visiting

The Gunnison Valley is basically a two-season resort area. The original tourist attraction was the ski area on Mt. Crested Butte. There are a lot of changes going on at the ski resort and major upgrades are evident. We hope that you thoroughly enjoyed yourself skiing here and at Monarch Ski Area, and hope that you tried other outdoor winter activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We realize that the temperatures are sometimes cold, but it never seems to bother people who are on a ski vacation because "it's a dry cold." In late April and early May, locals leave and go to Mexico for a while because it's muddy and we can't drink the water here! (Just kidding.) And then comes summer…

Come back soon

There are people who have lived here for their entire lives who do not ski. Why? Summers here are unparalleled. The sun is hot, but the breeze is cool. The wildflowers are in full bloom and the hiking trails through protected wilderness areas are open. Even the smallest babies can get out and enjoy the sound of a river rolling over the rocks and aspen leaves quaking in the breeze. Toddlers can take very easy hikes, and the older kids have countless hikes, bike rides, and activities to engage in. Take a break from the heat and the traffic. We'll see you next summer.
